Our goal is to honor nature through art, community and education.  We focus whole heartedly on sustainability, and adhere to strict ethical guidelines.

Our bone specimens are collected via a number of outlets. Some resources we utilize are foraged bones from nature hikes/ local collectors, road kill specimens, animal control as a part of wildlife management, pet donations, salvaged waste byproducts from other industries, vintage pieces, pieces recovered from personal collections, local reptile shops, feeders, natural death and byproducts from breeders and small family farms. We do not carry endangered species or any species protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act . We process a large number of the bones you find in shop in house via our dermestid beetle colony. This allows us to utilize full animals while maintaining the integrity of skeletal structures. See photos of our hardworking beetle crew below.

Most of our invertebrate specimens are farm raised. Farm raised or "captive bred" specimens are collected to be sold to universities, museums or businesses like ours once they complete their full metamorphosis cycle. A handful of these specimens are released back into their indigenous land to help sustain population growth while the remainder are collected after their metamorphosis cycle completes. These aviaries help sustain natural forests and jungles, and provide income for local communities. A select few specimens we utilize are wild caught specimens that are deemed pests, invasive or severely over populated resulting in resource scarcity. These invasive species are required to be removed from environments(i.e. spotted lantern fly) and done so humanely to scientific collection standards. Instead of being disposed of they are sold and used in art. We do not sell any endangered or CITES protected species.  All specimens are legally acquired and inspected by USFWS. We are licensed importers that follow strict guidelines.

It is our goal to run a sustainable business that maintains transparency. If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact us via our contact form on the website
